Mr François B. – Special Educator
After suffering an auditory shock at a concert, I woke up one morning unable to stand any noise.
After consulting a number of ENT specialists, I was diagnosed with hyperacusis. I tried many therapies and consulted many specialists (audioprosthesist with white noise, hearing aids, psychologist, psychiatrist, TTC therapy, neurologist, energy therapist, sophrologist, etc.) but nobody managed to help me or even improve my condition.
My encounter with Hearing institute was decisive, as they had a perfect understanding of hyperacusis (its causes and consequences, but above all how to treat it).
Natacha has a wealth of experience and expertise in hyperacusis. Yves spent an enormous amount of time talking to me, reassuring me and helping me to regain confidence in myself and in the future.
At the start of the therapy, I wore pianissimo earplugs plus noise-cancelling headphones, because I couldn’t stand any noise (around 55 dB). I was in a lot of pain and had to isolate myself for long periods.
But very quickly (from the 1st session), I improved my hearing by 10-15 dB, and little by little, I regained a taste for life. By the end of the 3rd session, I had regained near-normal hearing performance and a normal social life.
I can’t thank Oreblue institute enough for the quality of their care, both physical and moral. But also for their support, advice and guidance over many months.
3 years later, I go to nightclubs, the cinema and the theater without a plug. I no longer have any pain, and I keep my pianissimo for noisy events like soccer stadiums or concerts. Many thanks to the 2 of you.
